Taupō, NZ – The heart of Taupō beats stronger thanks to the dedication and generosity of its volunteers. The Volunteer Great Lake Taupō (VGLT) Volunteer Service Awards 2025 are now open for nominations, offering a chance to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of local volunteers and volunteer groups.
The awards, which will be presented at the COMAVOL 25 Taupō Community and Volunteer Expo on Saturday, 7th June 2025, highlight the selfless efforts of individuals and teams who work tirelessly to support and uplift the community.
“Volunteers are the backbone of our community,” says Julian Bishop, Volunteer Centre Coordinator at VGLT. “Their dedication ensures that vital services, support networks, and community initiatives continue to thrive. This is our opportunity to say thank you and to showcase the incredible impact of volunteerism in Taupō.”
Award Categories:
Youth Volunteer Service Award – Recognising a young person (18 and under) who has shown exceptional commitment to volunteering over the past
🌟 Shining Stars Award – Celebrating a volunteer with four or more years of service, demonstrating exceptional dedication and impact.
✨ Volunteer of the Year Award – Honouring an individual who has gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts, making a profound difference in the community.
🤝 Top Team Award – Recognising a group of volunteers who have worked together with passion and commitment to make a meaningful impact.
Has a team at your company received overwhelming praise for their commitment to corporate social responsibility and support for a worthy cause? Businesses that encourage Volunteer Time Off (VTO) and support employees in community service initiatives can nominate their teams for the Top Team Award. This is an opportunity to highlight the power of corporate giving and recognise businesses that invest in the community through volunteerism.
Nomination Details:
Who Can Nominate? Nominations must be submitted by a volunteer manager or coordinator from a registered Volunteer-Involving Organisation (VIO), Not-for-Profit (NFP), or for-purpose group.
Deadline:Friday, 16th May 2025
Eligibility: Open to volunteers involved in Not-for-Profit, For-Purpose, or Charitable Organisations within the Taupō District.
How to Nominate: Complete the nomination form and submit it via volunteerglt@gmail.com or post to VGLT, PO Box 595, Taupō 3330.
All approved nominees will be featured on the Wall of Appreciation and will receive a certificate of recognition for their service.
